Context
Designing an app mockup which can include various renovators and an aditional tool
Problem
The concept was born after an initial discussion with a DIY store manager. He relayed the need of customers of finding contractors after having bought materials from their store. Aditionally, not all customers were experts, thus an addon tool was proposed in order to provide measurements for estimating costs.
Process
The branding was meant to be simple and clean, with elements alluding to construction cranes - black and yellow. A small competitor analysis was run, into companies such as Taskrabbit or Porch, to make sure and include the most common offerings together with possible gaps.
Solution
A mockup show off contractor's most relevant offerings, their extra services, alongside user reviews to build trust. An extra core feature of esimation tool + additional items such as insurance was included as well to come closer to the target audience's needs.
Some Lessons & Future Developlment
To enhance adoption iOS or Android guidelines could be adopted for the get-go, in case the app actually gets approved.
